Field Engineer / Project Co-ordinators

This is an excellent opportunity for a University/College Graduate interested in a career in heavy civil construction. The expectation is that this entry level position will lead to advancement as a Site Superintendent or Project Manager.

Description:

  • The Field Engineer works closely, on site, with the Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure that all supporting documents and records necessary for the project are maintained
  • Maintain and update construction schedules on monthly basis, including delay tracking and changes in work
  • Manage and distribute contract drawings including all revisions and maintain “as-built” drawings for the project
  • Daily documentation of progress quantities and monthly submission of progress certificates on a timely basis
  • Record and invoice any work outside the scope of the contract and ensure Change Orders are processed
  • Maintain all project diaries
  • Ensure timely submission of all time sheets, packing slips, material tickets to Head Office
  • Problem solving and resolution of technical site issues
  • Assist Site Superintendent and Project Manager as required
  • Maintain a good working relationship with customers, consultants and subcontractors

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain organization and work efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Civil Engineering Technician or Technology Diploma
  • Valid Class “G” Drivers License
