Construction Superintendents

Responsibilities include:

  • Onsite monitoring of daily construction activities
  • Scheduling Subcontractors and Material Deliveries
  • Supervision of Fermar construction forces including labour and equipment
  • Monitor Health & Safety compliance and report to Company Health & Safety Manager
  • Resolution of on-site issues in co-operation with Owner Representative &  upper management
  • Attending site meetings with Owner
  • Preparing and submitting daily work records/time sheets to head office
  • All on-site measuring required to ensure accurate invoicing including transferring this information to office staff /project manager
  • Ordering , receiving and distributing utility locates
  • Daily monitoring and understanding of construction schedule in compliance with construction drawings and specifications

Requirements:

  • College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology preferred
  • Minimum 5 years road construction experience, preferably in a supervisory role
  • Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Valid class G driver’s license
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to maintain organization and work efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with customers

Training in the following would be an asset:

  • WHIMS
  • CPR & First Aid
  • Book 7
  • Basics of Supervising
